We have partnered with the Assemblies of God World Missions Department (AGWM) and "itineration" is their process of getting us on the field. Basically, in a nutshell, itineration is when missionaries travel around to different churches, pastors, individuals and tell them their vision for the country and people they will be going to minister. There are three reasons this is done:
1. To minister to the body of Christ and show them their role in missions.
2. To gain financial support. We cannot go to Burkina Faso without churches, pastors, and individuals partnering with us financially every month. This helps us get to the field quicker and helps us stay on the field for the full term.
3. To gain prayer partners. We would not be able to make it without prayer warriors lifting us up in prayer daily.
This process takes the AVERAGE missionary 15 months. Our first term out will be 3 years. The first year begins in France at language school and the last 2 years will be in Burkina Faso. Then we will come back to the U.S. and start the itineration process over again. The next term after that will be 4 years out on the field.
We would like to be ABOVE AVERAGE missionaries though and have our money raised by January of next year. This would be 12 months instead of the average 15 months. Language school starts in January or September next year, so our goal is January. So far we have been traveling around Illinois but already have churches booked in Indiana and Oklahoma. So this is what we are doing:
But it has truly been an awesome experience, so far. We have met some awesome pastors and congregations. We look forward to what God has ahead of us. Together we can reach the children of Burkina Faso and change the future of a country!
